Serenity of Krishnaghat

For every place there is one location which offers you solace and solitude, away from the hurry and flurry of the world. For Sangli-Miraj, it is Krishnaghat of Miraj. In my opinion, it is the most peaceful and scenic locale of the twin cities. The balmy wind and serene ambiance here make the early mornings tranquil. And add to it the occasional sounds of the bells from the temple on the Ghat, which add to the pleasantness of the locale. Krishna flows nonchalantly here, finding way between the Sugarcane fields and Palm trees, as if she is building up the strength before unleashing herself downstream.  Evenings have a bit of rush, both in the temple and on the bridge nearby. But this is the time you will capture flocks of birds flying all over the waters of Krishna, as if they are teasing the river in their playful banter. And the Krishna responds, with its occasional ripples tantalizing the gliding creatures. And that spectacle, trust me, is a scene to witness, a moment to cherish…
